Antigua Carnival

A cultural explosion called by many the “Caribbean’s Greatest Summer Festival”, Antigua Carnival provides a colorful insight into the culture of this Caribbean island. The island’s carnival officially started in 1957 and is held annually in celebration of the Emancipation of slavery.

This energetic carnival features a jammed pack line up of events over multiple days. Patrons can enjoy popular events like the Jaycees Caribbean Queen Show, the Soca Monarch and Panorama competitions, Emancipation Watch Night Celebrations, J’ouvert with the schedule culminating in the Parade of the Bands on August 4th and 5th.

  • Soca Monarch – August 3
  • Burning Flames 40th Anniversary Celebration – July 30
  • Melting Pot – July 31 – Performances by some of the top artists within the Caribbean.
  • Watch Night – August 1
  • Panorama – August 2
  • J’ouvert – August 4
  • Monday Mas Parade & Parade of Bands – August 4 & 5
  • Last Lap – August 5
